Oliver Soulas - Portrait

Reuters, dpa, Greenpeace, Die Welt, Financial Times. Im Jahr 2000 wollte ich nach Berlin ziehen. Da wollte man hin.

I was born in Munich in 1966. I finished school (Abitur) and did my alternative military service. After that I worked as a copyboy for the German men´s Vogue, later as an assistant. Then I became assistant to Hans Buttermilch in his fotostudio in Munich. In the meantime i was the singer of the skaband Bluekilla (they still exist!). In 1991 i moved to beautiful Hamburg. I worked as a waiter and at night took concertphotos that I offered to the daily newspapers the following day. That is how I became local reporter for the newspaper „Die Welt“. After that I worked for the news agency „Reuters“. Huh, very exciting for a young man. Things started moving after that: Reuters, dpa, Greenpeace, Die Welt, Financial Times became clients. In 2000 I wanted to move to Berlin, which was the place to go to at that time. But things came out differently, I met my girlfriend in Munich and since then I have lived and worked here.
